The incident occurred in Norwalk around 10:50 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 6 in the parking garage at 30 Day St.
When the officer went to check out the "suspicious" vehicle, he noticed a Glock 9mm handgun on the driver's side floorboard of the vehicle, said Lt. Joe Dinho, of the Norwalk Police.
Officers also found a 33-round high-capacity magazine and oxycodone during a search, Dinho said.
The driver, identified as Donate Jayden Scullark, age 20, of Norwalk, resisted arrest as officers attempted to take him into custody, and was transported to police headquarters for processing.
He was charged with:
- Illegal possession of a large-capacity magazine
- Illegal possession of a weapon in a vehicle
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Interfering with an officer/resisting
Scullark was held on a $75,000 bond.
